Have you ever experienced a stiff neck upon waking? Or perhaps you just can't seem to "work the kinks out" when you stand up and you know you are not walking normally. Partial movement of a joint might seem better than no motion at all, but if our joints are not functioning properly at demanding times, there can be serious consequences.

Our joints are critical to proper motion and coordination of our bodies. If one or more joints are misaligned within our spine it definitely affects our ability to perform vital physical tasks. A painful, stiff neck is a perfect example of how our inability to have complete range of motion can enable situations to go terribly awry. Anyone who has ever tried to drive a vehicle with a stiff neck knows their response time is greatly lowered. Operating a vehicle requires a full range of motion from left to right, often within split seconds. All it takes is one missed glance to check for oncoming traffic and the results are disastrous.

For athletes or others who must perform strenuous activity while on the job, a joint out of alignment means other parts of the body will try to compensate for the subluxated joint. Without a full range of motion, it is very difficult for the body to execute proper coordination to safely complete physical tasks. For athletes, this can mean additional injury and time off for recuperation. For those who must perform very physical tasks while on the job, such as police officers, fire personnel or heavy machine operators, any loss of joint motion and coordination could have very serious consequences.

If you have difficulty with your joints and are not able to enjoy a full range of motion, please contact us. We can help you restore your spine's proper function so you can experience peak physical performance.
