Being a Chiropractor entails enormous responsibility. Our first responsibility is to hear and understand your story. We have to ask questions, and take the time to hear your answers. Once we understand why you've come to us, we have to combine our extensive knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the human body and the vast array of tools and techniques available to a chiropractor into a highly personalized treatment plan designed just for you.

So, how does one prepare to become a chiropractor? What type of education and training are required to become a chiropractor? After completion of a bachelor's degree, a prospective chiropractor will apply to and attend an accredited Doctor of Chiropractic program. Normally, the first two years of the four-year doctoral program will be focused on the general sciences, followed by two years of chiropractic-specific education. Upon successful completion of four years of the doctoral program, students will complete a one-year residency program. The next step of this lengthy process is completing the state licensing examinations and requirements.

At this point, although the chiropractor is qualified and licensed to provide chiropractic care, her training is not complete. Because best practices and state of the art chiropractic care change and improve, to maintain licensure, each chiropractor must complete and submit CEUs (continuing education units).

Here at Lexington Chiropractic we value the trust you placed in us when you came in our doors. When you visit us, you can rest assured that our providers meet the rigorous requirements to become a chiropractor and bring the genuine caring of a healer with them every day.
